Navigation and menus

Version 2.0.0 reorganizes the Orkestra side menu: entries are grouped by purpose (operate, design, supervise, configure) and many labels are renamed to be more meaningful. This page presents the new organization and how it maps to the labels of version 1.0.49.

Finding a former label

During the transition period, renamed entries display a "Formerly: …" tooltip on hover, showing their previous label.

At the top of the menu, Home and Favorites remain always available. The rest of the menu is divided into sections:

SectionPurposeContent
OperationsConsume and produce data day to dayOrchestration, Repositories, Governance, Data Shop, Dashboards
DesignDesign and configure processingFlow, Traceability
SupervisionMonitor the platform and executionsOperations, Execution Tracking
PlatformManage tenants (platform administrators only)Tenants, Administrators
SettingsManage access and general configurationAccess & Permissions, General Settings, Compliance & Personal Data

Other notable changes:

  • Each module's configuration now lives inside its application, as a last "Configuration" entry (Repositories, Flow, Traceability), instead of under Settings > Configuration.
  • Repositories (formerly REF Manager) moves from the management section to the Operations section.
  • Dashboards becomes a standalone entry of the Operations section.
  • Menu groups are collapsed by default.

A menu tailored to each user

  • Based on permissions: an entry only appears if the user has the required permissions; a group with no accessible entry is hidden. Two users may therefore see different menus.
  • Hidden by an administrator: from Settings > General Settings > Menu, an administrator can hide menu entries.
  • Customized by the user: from the profile menu (top-right icon), Customize my menu lets everyone remove the entries they do not use. You can only hide entries you already have access to.

Top bar

  • The ? button (Online help) opens this online documentation, in the version matching the platform.
  • The profile menu groups Profile, About, Customize my menu and Logout.
Screenshots

Screenshots in this documentation carried over from version 1.0.49 still show the former menu and labels. They will be updated progressively.
