Administration

Where to find it in the menu

The features on this page are located in the Settings section:

  • Compliance & Personal Data (formerly GDPR): Recycle bin, Processing log, My consents;
  • General Settings (formerly Configuration): Email templates, Applications Roles, Menu, Settings.

The Platform section (Tenants, Administrators) is only visible to platform administrators. When you hover over a renamed menu entry, a "Formerly: …" tooltip reminds you of its previous label.

New in 2.0.0

This page describes features introduced in version 2.0.0. The content below is written from the feature's functional criteria; screenshots will be added later.

Recycle bin and soft delete

Deleting an item in Orkestra (a user, a reference dataset, a UTD, etc.) no longer erases it immediately and permanently. The item is moved to a recycle bin where it remains visible, before an eventual permanent deletion.

The recycle bin is available via Settings > Compliance & Personal Data > Recycle bin (restricted to administrators).

  • Deleted items no longer appear in the usual screens and grids.
  • An item placed in the recycle bin can be restored, which returns it to its previous state.
  • Permanent deletion (purge) remains a separate, explicit action.

This change reduces the risk of accidental data loss and makes audit checks easier.

GDPR compliance

Orkestra lets you meet obligations related to the personal data of platform users:

  • Export of personal data for a user (right of access).
  • Permanent deletion of personal data for a user on request (right to erasure).
  • Log of processing operations performed on personal data, for traceability and audit purposes (Settings > Compliance & Personal Data > Processing log).
  • Consent management for users: each user views their own consents via Settings > Compliance & Personal Data > My consents.

These actions are reserved for profiles authorized to administer users, except for My consents, which is available to every user.

UTD archiving

UTDs that have been inactive for a long time can be archived instead of remaining active indefinitely:

  • Manual archiving, or automatic archiving based on a defined age threshold.
  • Archived UTDs are moved to dedicated storage and no longer consume active resources.
  • An archived UTD can be restored if needed.
  • The retention period before archiving is configurable per UTD type.

General Settings: menu configuration

The Settings > General Settings > Menu entry (restricted to administrators) displays the platform's complete menu tree. For each entry, you can:

  • hide or show it in the menu (unchecking a group hides all of its entries);
  • make the corresponding page inaccessible.

Changes are applied by clicking Enregistrer (Save).

Note

Independently of this configuration, the menu is filtered according to the user's permissions: an entry only appears if the user has the corresponding right, and a group with no visible entry is hidden.

Platform section

The Platform section of the menu is only visible to platform administrators. It contains:

  • Tenants: list of the platform's tenants and creation of a new tenant ("Create a tenant" button);
  • Administrators: list of platform administrators and addition of an administrator ("Add an administrator" button).
